Arteriovenous malformation

An arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an abnormal collection of arteries and veins in the brain. Instead of having a capillary bed in between the artery and the vein, an AVM is a direct connection between arteries and veins.Small vascular malformations will not be identified on a Prenuvo scan, as the most sensitive sequence for tiny blood vessel imaging is not performed due to the length of time required for that type of imaging.

Disclaimer: The condition listed on this page is an example of findings that may be identified through Prenuvo's MRI screenings. A Prenuvo scan is designed to help identify potential abnormalities that may warrant further evaluation and is not intended to diagnose disease or replace evaluation by a qualified healthcare provider, diagnostic testing, or guideline-recommended screening.
